I really really love QE... She's so pretty, talented and I like her character... Strong and willfull...

OMG Qiao En rocks! i can't believe that she is lesser rated than Ming Dao, but they are really a cute couple... anyone knows any personal info of QiaoEn? And i really wanna meet her! Shes like, totally the best! I hate the way those ppl say her! She is like totally perfect leh... see this post from another website: This year march, the idol drama "Fated to Love You" that Chen Qiao En is leading actress in is airing in Taiwan and it shot high and created "Taiwan idol drama ratings new record" Chen Qiao En became the new idol drama rating queen.
[color=darkblue]But her road to fame is not smooth. She has been in the entertainment circle for 8 years, acting in "Lavender", "100% Senorita", "MVP Valentine" and various other idol dramas. Yet she could only be half in fame and half not. When the drama "Prince Turned To Frog" that she led in was airing in Taiwan, the male lead Ming Dao shot to fame but as the female lead, not only did she not become popular, she also got heavily criticised as "Not beautiful", "Can't match up to Ming Dao", "Loves showing a grumpy face" etc. Her manager even came up with the critic that "Chen Qiao En is too old and no longer suitable for idol dramas", causing Chen Qiao En, born in 1979, to have no drama to film for nearly a year. Her MV's are sooooo cool! She is like good in everything and SUPER pretty.. no offence to Ming Dao, but i think she should be rated more, and better than him... >.< Just voicing out my opinions... QE is underrated. She deserves to be recognized in the same line/wave with MD. She has proven herself and yet people still does not have their full confidence in her. I guess the fact that she is a female is what makes in unacceptable to some. But she deserves to be recognize more. SHe has proven her worth and her talent. It is not to be doubted.

White and rockstar girl...first thing, i do think she deserves fame and accolade and she does have this now...i also agree that it is a male dominated industry and thats a fact....but the fact, that you are comparing to MD is not exactly fair, but no offiense taken...

But, I dont think it is because QE is a woman, then look to that actress, Ariel Lin...

If you really think about it it is QE own personality and lack of EQ.. it is endearing to many, this brash, say it like it is personal, even cute and cheeky to some.... [b]but then the powers that be, that give out the roles and the reviews think otherwise. and they are in charge...

QE has to learn to work with them, in a way...so this is not just about raw , God given talent, of which she has. MD has had to work harder, but it is his way of working within the industry, and his naturally higher EQ... NO OFFENSE TO QE FANS!! I hope you understand what i am driving at....[/b]

Eggroll, let me clarify my post although I know you didn't mind what I have posted. I am not comparing QE and MD's fame. My point is same as yours, it is a male dominated industry; hence, the male actors can get the recognition while the actresses have to keep on proving their worth.

No doubt MD is a very good actor.

QE has already proven her ability but she still needs to prove it. Any actors who got the looks can easily get fame and recognition but for actresses, you are always the supporting cast in the drama. It is always the males who get recognized. But time will come when people will know QE as a good and talented actress.

Eggroll is right when she said that QE has to work with them (everyone). MD gets along with everyone. That is one problem QE needs to fix. Look at EFHL, she barely talks to Blue Lan who is the lead and I guess, it will manifest in the drama what they feel towards each other in real life.

So, time will tell.

Hello White, I do understand both your postings, and all is ok...

Males do get better treatment in all industries not just entertaiment..

However, I did use the example of that actress, Ariel Lin? she is a top actress and is recognized equally with that other star, what's his name?

Anyway, the point is that you do have to "get along" with the connections of the industry (media, studios, tv stations etc..whether you want to or not...or whether you feel like it or not) to give you a chance, or give you more chances and oppotunities. That's th nature of this kind of job/industry...

With EFHL, QE was actually the bigger name... and unfortunately had to carried the burden of the success of the drama..., and like you said, creating chemistry, getting along is part of how you create success, at least for the drama, along with a good script.

I point to Always Smile - that is a good example what went right....even with a simplistic idol drama plot or script, In my mind it is near perfect - for an idol drama - the cast, the chemistry, the script.

Yes, MD's smile drama is simple yet it drives a point and very direct. I still catch its reruns on the wee hours of dawn in hunan tv. I wasn't able to catch the ending. My husband and daughter loves this drama. They were the ones watching it during its telecast every weeknights. Now, my daughter is watching another rerun of MD drama everyweekend...he is the second lead, motrocycle repairshop owner. I am not sure if it is heaven's wedding gown although there are gowns in the showroom that is located in the countryside/resort.

You are right. SHe really has to get along with everyone. Usually, people/fans are surprised that she is friends with certain people. I guess she is really more into I, myself thinking. I remember MD said that QE loves money and herself. She really has to open up or she will lead a lonely life.

Also, really, you must have connections if you want to get to somewhere either in the entertainment industry or business place...I guess it is part of the whole set-up.

i find award shows and awards are a much about the politics of the entertainment industry, just as much as it is being the most popular among viewers and fans - the example of the hilariously, notorious GBA...even this year with no Ming or En present or nominated, it still was full of controversy..

Its naive and d__b to think it purely a popularity contest on which drama had the highest ratings will get the award..

there are always and will be, inner workings on who gets what --- whether its an award or a drama/film role, and sometime, no, often,

you have to be a likeable person in the eyes of the industry and media,
again in the eyes of the industry and media,

not just fans...this goes for business as well.

deals informal or formal are alway there. So, you have to learn to like and get along with those who have it ....to make your career move in the lovely Taiwan and China entertainment industry.. sounds bluntly jaded but sooo true
